CFM worked with the Washington congressional delegation to locate a Vets Center in Lacey, the first new center for veterans in more than a decade. The new Vets Center was the top priority for the mayor of Lacey, which is in the shadow of the mammoth Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Despite budget constraints at the Veterans Administration, CFM worked through bureaucratic obstacles to establish the new center ensuring that veterans in Thurston County receive health benefits, including a broad range of counseling, outreach and referral assistance.
