CFM’s public affairs team coordinated with environmental groups, legislators and tribal officials to expose a potential public health threat involving recycling petroleum-based hazardous waste near the Columbia River. Working with technical experts with experience in hazardous waste recycling, CFM distilled a complex subject into understandable terms and successfully generated media coverage and legislative inquiries. Public exposure and the threat of legal action prompted state regulators to take a more aggressive stance in licensing the hazardous waste facility.
