CFM was chosen to provide strategic counsel for a $1.3 billion water project that won’t come on line until 2026, but is brimming with public affairs challenges. The project involves extracting water from the Willamette River, treating it at a new water treatment facility, building extensive water lines through multiple jurisdictions and constructing a water storage facility near an established neighborhood. CFM has dealt with jurisdictional conflicts, state regulatory issues, construction cost overruns, neighborhood concerns and more to ensure the project remains on track to meet growing future clean water demands.
